This is the clearly free program. There are no spyware or adware. It's absolutely safe to install and to run!
Step 2. Launch Free Video to iPod and PSP Converter
Follow Start > All Programs > DVDVideoSoft > Free Video to iPod and PSP Converter or just click the program icon on the desktop.
The interface is very simple and self explaining. There are the field for an input file, the field for an output path, and lists with preconfigured profiles.
Step 3. select Input Video File
Click the upper Browse... button to select an input video file from your computer.
Input file formats are: *.avi, *.mpg, *.mpeg, *.mpe, *.wmv, *.asf, *.mov, *.qt, *.3gp, *.3g2, *.flv, *swf.
Step 4. select Output Location
Click the bottom Browse... button on the right. Choose the location where you would like to save your converted video file. Click Save.
Step 5. select Output Format Profile
In the list of Devices select Apple iPod, Sony PSP or Mobile Phone.
In the list of Profiles select one of the available pre-configured profiles.
Step 6. Trim Video
Click the Trim video... button along the bottom of the interface to open the new window.
Use navigation line and special buttons to set start and end selection markers position.
Click Apply & Close to switch back to the main program window.
Step 7. Switch to Batch Mode
Click the Switch to a batch mode... link to convert several video files.
Step 8. Add More Files
Then click the upper Browse... button to add other video files to convert.
Note: If you want to return to a single mode click the Switch to a single mode... link.
Step 9. Convert Video
Click the Convert button along the bottom of the interface and wait the conversion to be completed.
Step 10. Transfer Video to iPod
Open Apple iTunes and drag the newly converted video file to the library window. If you have selected "Automatically update all videos" for the video preferences for your iPod, the new video will automatically transfer when you connect the player. If you have selected "Automatically update the selected playlists only," make sure that you drag the new video to one of the selected playlists.
Note: You'll probably want to update the information of the video when you move it to the iTunes library. To do this, select Videos from the left-hand column and go to list view. Then, click the file for which you want to edit info and select Get Info from the File menu (or simply right-click). You can edit the boxes found under the Info tab.
